The Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO), a leading professional organization of the international society of aquatic sciences for researchers and educators in the field of aquatic sciences, organizes annual scientific meetings. During this year’s event (https://www.aslo.org/palma-2023/), the results of the SusTunTech project were presented in the session Fishing4Data: Fishing Gear as an Oceanographic Data Collection Platform. In this session, international researchers have shown different initiatives focused on ocean observation systems from fishing vessels, sensors in fishing gear and vessels, and data management to facilitate their use and application.
