SusTunTech H2020 European project aims to reduce fuel consumption of tuna vessels as a climate change mitigation strategy and help them to adapt to changes of species distribution driven by climate change. But, the ambition is that these vessels are just an example and that SusTunTech algorithms are in the future adapted to other types of fleets. FutureMARES H2020 European project is looking for solutions against climate change where human activities work together with nature (nature-based solutions). The SusTunTech and FutureMARES teams have worked together in a recent publication (Granado et al., 2021) that designs decision support systems to mitigate and adapt to climate change for each type of vessels, not only the tuna vessels aimed at SusTunTech (https://authors.elsevier.com/a/1dgVI3QCo9bOpw). This publication has been presented in FutureMARES annual meeting on 22 September 2021.
