Dr. Jose Fernandes was invited to this meeting where key representatives of the traditional fishing industry in France, Portugal and Spain regularly meets to discusses issues and advances. The presentation addressed the legislative proposal Artificial Intelligence Act under review and presented several recent projects that use Artificial Intelligence in fisheries. Particularly, SusTunTech was presented as an example of development of Artificial Intelligence systems to improve the ecological and economic sustainability of fishing activities. The identification of species and reduction of incidental fishing were some of the artificial intelligence uses discussed at the end of the talk in answer to the audience questions.
